[Problem Description]
VMware ESXi cannot scan for LUNs. Only some LUNs can be scanned.
[Symptom Description]
If there are multiple ESXi servers in the cluster and 10 LUNs are mapped to the storage device, one ESXi server cannot detect three of the 10 LUNs. Other ESXi servers can scan all LUNs.
[Cause]
The possible causes are as follows:The number of LUNs mapped to the ESXi server has reached the upper limit of the ESXi operating system.
[Location Method]
View the ESXi log file /var/log/vmkernel.log and search for key logs.
The number of devices allocated has reached the maximum: 256. The device for plug-in NMP will not be allocated.
If the key log exists in the log, The format of the mapped LUN has reached the upper limit of the ESXi system specifications.
To further confirm the LUN information added to the ESXi, view the collected log file /commands/localcli_storage-core-device-list.txt.

This problem is caused by the ESXi configuration. For details, see:

1. Adjust the number of LUNs added to the server to ensure that the number of LUNs added to the server does not exceed the maximum number of ESXi system specifications.
2. Configure services on other servers.
[Post-Recovery Check]
Rescan for LUNs on the ESXi and check whether the LUNs can be added successfully.
