Hello everyone.

Our hospital was gifted with CE6851-48S6Q-HI and i am trying to become friends with him.

Being totally noobish with Huawei - decided to start with a simple connect to an access port of other switch.

int 10ge1/0/5

undo portswitch

ip address 172.22.2.246 255.255.255.0

And everything is fine.

Problem starts when i try to use vlan layer 3 ip interface the same way i usually do with Cisco

vlan 222

int vlanif 222

ip address 172.22.2.246 255.255.255.0

int 10ge1/0/5

clear config this

port link-type access

port default vlan 222

commit

Looks like i am totally missing something because cant ping anything in 172.22.2.0 network.

ARP requests are just marking as incomplete.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

10ge1/0/5 is a 10gigabytes interface, but your optical module is 1gigabytes, maybe this caused the problem

the incomplete items displayed means the corresponding device is not accessable, you may check if you ping the wrong IP address or if the device has been connected to the switch.

Vlanif 222 is up and can ping its own ip.
Thats why I am so confused.

The only suspicious part is the 3rdparty (allied telesyn) SFP fiber 1GB module plugged in the huawei.
But with "undo portswitch" layer 3 router port traffic goes just fine from the same port.
