This topic describes how to view the VCN operating inspection items, expected results, and handling suggestions on the OMU portal.
Log in to the OMU portal and click the Preventive Maintenance tab. On the page that is displayed, click the arrows next to Basic Information of OS and Running Status of OS. The page shown in Figure 1 is displayed when the inspection is complete. Table 1 lists the inspection items, expected results, and handling suggestions for the basic information about the operating system. Table 2 lists the inspection items, expected results, and handling suggestions for the running status of the operating system.

Inspection Item | Expected Result | Handling Suggestion |
|---|---|---|
Check the time zone and time | The time and time zone are correctly configured. | Log in to the OMU portal to set the time zone, for details, see (Important) Setting Network and Time Parameters. |
Check the firmware version | The firmware version is 101 or higher. | Contact Huawei engineers. |
Inspection Item | Expected Result | Handling Suggestion |
|---|---|---|
Check the CPU usage | The CPU usage is lower than 70%, that is, the idle rate is greater than or equal to 30%. | Log in to the server operating system as the admin user and switch to the root user.Run the top command to check the CPU usage and memory usage of each process. Then collect logs of the modules with the top 3 CPU usage and send the logs to Huawei engineers. |
Check the running processes | The average CPU usage of each process is less than 40%. | Log in to the server operating system as the admin user and switch to the root user.Run the top command to check the CPU usage of each process. Then collect logs of the modules whose process CPU usage exceeds the threshold and send the logs to Huawei engineers. |
Check the memory usage | The memory usage is less than 70%. | Log in to the server operating system as the admin user and switch to the root user.Run the top command to check the memory usage of each process. Then collect logs of the modules with the top 3 memory usage and send the logs to Huawei engineers. |
Check the I/O usage | The I/O usage is less than 85%. | Contact Huawei engineers. |
Check the network adapter status | The network adapters are properly connected, and the bandwidth of the service network adapter is 1000 Mbit/s. | If the check fails, check the network cable connections, network port indicators, and IP address settings. If the bandwidth of the service network adapter is insufficient, verify that the switch bandwidth is sufficient or contact Huawei technical support engineers. |
Check the system file type and partition usage | The system file type is ext3 and the partition usage is less than or equal to 80%. | If the system file type is incorrect, reinstall the operating system. If the partition usage exceeds the threshold, collect information about the five directories with the top 5 space usage and send the information to Huawei engineers. |
Check system logs recording operation exceptions | The PANIC, FAIL, ERROR, and WARNING logs do not exist in the /var/log/messagesfile. | Check the log file. If error information exists, send the log file to Huawei engineers. |
Check the NTP time synchronization service | The scheduled task of NTP time synchronization exists. The scheduled task script exists. | Verify the NTP configuration by referring to (Important) Configuring NTP Time Synchronization. If the fault persists, contact Huawei engineers. |
