Hello@LSA
Precautions for upgrading AR routers:
1. Before the upgrade, collect various entries, such as the routing table, FIB table, MAC table, device information, interface information, version information, and configuration file information.
After the upgrade, collect the preceding information again and compare the information with the previous information to check whether the information is correct, whether the device status is normal, and whether the service traffic is normal.
2. Ensure that the path of the system files such as the version startup file and configuration file is set in the flash memory. Do not set the path in the USB flash drive.
3. In addition to the steps described in this document, do not reset or power off the device during the upgrade.
Precautions for upgrading NE routers:
Pre-upgrade
Verify the storage capacity of CF cards on the master and slave MPUs before the upgrade. If the storage capacity is 512 MB, replace the CF cards to 1GB or larger. Refer to 2.4.9 for the operation of replacing the CF cards.
Ensure that the log function is enabled to record operation data for the upgrade.
Setting a small traffic rate is recommended. This helps prevent possible NE40E/80E upgrade failures. The traffic rate can be changed to an appropriate value after the upgrade.
Upgrade in process
Do not install, power off, restart, or remove any boards.
Load correct paf.txt and license.txt files.
Do power off an MPU before installing a CF card in or removing one from a slot on an MPU panel. If a CF card in the slot on the MPU panel is hot swapped, the NE40E/80E restarts.
Use commands with the slave parameter only when double MPUs are installed on an NE40E/80E.
Skip the step of upgrading an SFU when upgrading an NE40E-X3 as there is no SFU.
Stop upgrading an LPU if its CPU usage exceeds 90%. High CPU usage slows down the upgrade process or results in an upgrade failure. Proceed with the upgrade after CPU usage falls below 80%.
Post-upgrade Ensure that the following conditions are met:
Boards register with the MPU successfully.
Board components support the target version.
No configuration data is missing.
