It's always recommended to have a standalone NTP server in order to prevent the time difference.

IT is recommended not to configure a NTP server on the VCN due to the crystal oscillator.
it is recommended to have a NTP server stand alone and connect the VCN to it

@Nasr what do you mean by crystal oscillator, and how does it effect the NTP service?

It is recommended that you set the NTP clock source, the time zone and time during initial configuration. If you set the NTP clock source in other phases, severe consequences may occur, for example, the video recording time may be inconsistent across cameras, recordings cannot be properly played, or alarms cannot be queried. Changing the NTP clock source, the time zone or time may restart the IVS servers that time-synchronize with the NTP clock source server. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

Otherwise I agree with @Nasr. the ideal is to have an independen****P server

I got the same issue I think we can configure the laptop on which IVS client will be installed as ntp client also before configure ntp on the vcn
