Symptom
A user enables multicast on the client and then switches to the unicast mode. When the user views the live video from a camera, no video is played.
Possible Causes
Multicast IP addresses are incorrectly configured.
Multicast IP addresses are configured by users. Users must have basic multicast knowledge to ensure that multicast IP addresses are configured properly.
Solution
- Log in to the IVS C/S client and double-click Devices on the Workspace tab page.
- In the device list, double-click the camera. The Configuration window is displayed.
- Choose Video Settings > Camera Settings.
- Check whether the camera multicast IP address is correctly configured by referring to the value range of User multicast IP addresses provided in Table 1.

- If yes, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
- If no, change the multicast IP address by referring to the value range of User multicast IP addresses and go to the next step.
- Check whether the fault is rectified.
If the fault is rectified, no further action is required.
