Huawei VCN products include
VCN3010, VCN3020, and VCN5X0. On the multi-level multi-domain connection
network, Huawei VCN5X0 functions as a lower-level domain to connect to other
Huawei VCN platforms, as shown in . VCN3010 and
VCN3020 have the work modes of the VMU and MPU, and VCN5X0 has only the work
mode of the MPU. Table 1 describes the two work modes.

VMU | When the VCN works in VMU mode, it
provides the following functions: - The VMU, functioning as the
master server, connects to upper- and lower-level domains or external domains to
construct a multi-level and multi-domain network. As for domain A shown in the
preceding networking diagram, the master server must be VMU.
- The VMU manages MPUs and
performs service configuration and control in the local domain.
- The VMU forwards media streams
from external domains.

MPU | When the VCN works in MPU mode, it
provides the following functions: - If the number of MPUs in a domain
is less than or equal to 16, one of the MPUs can be selected as the master
server to manage other MPUs. However, the domain where the MPU functions as the
master server can be only the lowest-level domain in upper- and lower-level
domains, for example, domain B and domain C in the preceding networking
diagram.
- The MPU connects to cameras.
- The MPU forwards media
streams.
- The MPU supports recording
storage, playback, and download.
