Hi team!

Here's a case that V3 Performance Log Dump Failure Alarm 0x100F010F002C.

Problem Description

A storage system's performance statistics data fails to be dumped.

Symptom

The storage system reports the following alarm information:

Controller 0A dump a performance statistics file failed,

as shown in the following figure. The alarm ID is 0x100F010F002C.

1

Possible Cause

After performance statistics files are generated, the storage system where the dump function is enabled uses a script to enable the primary controller to dump these files to an external SFTP/FTP server.

To prevent the script or command from being suspended, the storage system periodically checks whether a dump task times out. In the current version, the type of the timeout check variable is set inappropriately.

As a result, after the storage system is powered on for 49 days, the value of the variable overflows, making the storage system wrongly determine that a dump task times out.

Therefore, the dump fails.

Identification Method

1. The software version of the storage system is V300R001C20SPC200 earlier versions of the OceanStor V3 series or V300R002C10SPC100 and earlier versions of the OceanStor V3 series.

2. The storage system reports the following alarm information: Controller 0A dump a performance statistics file failed.

    The error code is 0x5001100.

    2

3. After completing one-click log collection, find out the log file generated at the alarm time in the following directory:

3

In the log file, search for keywords _OM_WaitChild.

4

From the search result, search for the keyword timeout. If the following information is displayed, the software bug mentioned before is the cause.

5

Solution

Upgrade the storage system to V300R001C20SPC200 or V300R002C10SPC200.

Workaround

Access the storage system's management IP address through SFTP.

Drag the performance statistics file from the directory shown in the following figure:

Check After Recovery

Performance statistics data can be successfully dumped.

The event is at the info level and does not involve automatic clearance.
