I´m about to install my PV system, it consists of a SUN2000 2KTL and four Trina VERTEX 500W solar modules. The question is that the module Vmp is almost 42 V, then using two strings, one for each MPPT, I only reach 84V per MPPT. Then i would like to connect One string of 4 modules, reaching 168V in only one MPPT. Then the other MPPT should remain inactive. Is it possible?  Voc is 12.28A. Thanks in advance.

Hello dear!

Yes, you should connect the four pieces in series into one port.

@AlbertoV1 , the rated output power for this inverter is 2000W but let's say in ideal conditions (25C degree and 1000W/m2). Taking into cosnideration these conditions, your inverter should output at its maximum capacity but not always we have "ideal conditions" so the best DC/AC ratio would be 1.33.

Basically, you can put 2.66kW panels on your inverter so you can add another PV panel (5 totally) to be sure that even if it's an overcast day it will output some energy. In fact it's just about the efficiency of the PV system i_f30.gif
