USG2100 can’t obtain public network ip address after configuring PPPOE

Network topology:
USG ------ Public Network
User’s USG access to public network by PPPOE, and can’t obtain public network ip address after configuration.

Handling Process

1. Connected PC with public network, and found that dial normally. It is not the carrier’s problem.

2. Checked the configuration.

ip address ppp-negotiate

After check, found the red command is the reason of this problem. It’s no need to configure the command because the device is PPPOE client. Delete this command, and the problem is solved.

Root Cause

1. Configuration problem.
2. Carrier problem.

This command is only configured when device is PPPOE server. In this case, it should not be configured.
