Hello, guys!

I'm going to introduce you a case about user can't create logical fibers after deleting them on the U2000.

Problem Description

NE A-OBU-OUT (transmit side) is connected to NE B-OAU-VI (receive side), and the corresponding logical fiber connections are created. The logical fiber connections between NE A and NE B need to be modified. In addition, the fiber carries OCh and client trails. Therefore, the customer does not want to delete the service completely. The customer wants to delete the service from the U2000. After the logical fiber connection is deleted from the U2000, an error message is displayed indicating that the port has been occupied when a user attempts to re-create the logical fiber connection.

Process

1. After the NE database is uploaded, the deleted fiber is displayed on the U2000.

2. This indicates that although the fiber connection is deleted from the U2000, the configuration still exists in the database. Therefore, when we select the deleted port again, an error is returned indicating that the port is occupied.

3.  Delete the logical fiber connection on the device layer.

Root cause

The fiber connection is deleted from the U2000, but the configuration still exists in the database.

Solution

There are two solutions:

1.  Use the Navigator to delete the fiber connection configuration from the equipment.

Step 1 Log in to the NE using the Navigator.

Step 2 Run the :cfg-get-fibermgr:0,0,0,0 command to query all current logical fiber connections.

1

In step 2, you can obtain the preceding information. That is, each logical fiber connection contains six parameters: source NE ID, source slot data, source port data, destination NE ID, destination slot data, and destination port data.

Step 3: Run the following command to obtain all logical fiber connections of a specific source NE and slot data

2

Step 4: Delete the destination logical fiber connections. Note that all the six parameters must be entered and the connections in two directions must be deleted.

3

Step 5 Upload the NE database again. Then, you can add new logical fiber connections.

The second solution is to delete fibers from the NMS. The procedure is as follows:

Step 1 Delete the fiber from the U2000.

Step 2 Log in to the NE and choose Configuration > Fiber/Cable Synchronization from the Function Tree.

Step 3 Click Synchronize

Step 4: All configurations that are not displayed on the U2000 but are displayed on NEs are displayed.

Step 5 Select a fiber and delete it.
