Hi, team.

Can anyone out there help me with this?

  1. I have plugged in a FAT32 formatted USB stick (with some data loaded) into the back of the EG8145V5 unit

  2. Set up the USB Home Sharing details on the Home Page (click on the USB graphic to open this up if you're not seeing it)

  3. Enabled Media Sharing and specified the path on the menu: Advanced, Applications, Media Sharing

  4. Applied at each stage to save the above settings.

  5. Tried accessing it on the LAN by using a browser with: ftp://192.168.18.1 (my GPON IP address) - nothing...

  6. Tried accessing it using Mac Connect to Server (Apple K) using: ftp://192.168.18.1 as the address, and the appropriate User Name and Password - nothing.....

  7. Tried accessing it using via Windows 7 PC running FileZilla with the above details - nothing....firmware loaded

So where am I going wrong, or is it the software on this modem just doesn't work properly?

I should point out that the software loaded(V5R019C00S100) is a new version, which is completely different from the 'help' videos shown on YouTube.

Have any of you got this feature working yet, as it's driving me crazy?

I look forward to reading any sensible suggestions from the community.

Thanks in advance.....

Dear friends, please refer to the following details:

Click Advanced Configuration > Application tab, and choose Media Sharing

in the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, configure the media

sharing settings, Then click Apply. as shown in the following Figure:

11

If you cannot access files on the USB storage device through the PC, perform the following operations:

1. Confirm whether the USB sharing and printing function is turned on. This option is under the application menu. If not, then your device may be a customized machine of the operator, and the media function cannot be used. Please contact the operator for technical support.

2. Check whether the USB port is securely connected.

3. The USB storage device is damaged. (Do not remove or insert the USB device during use. Otherwise, files in the device may be damaged.)

4. Your device (application terminal) does not support the DLAN function

5. Check whether the specified path is enabled. The possible cause is that no file exists in the specified path.

Thank you!

Question: How to use the USB function of a Huawei ONT (HG8045A, HG8245, HG8247H)?

Answer:
The USB port of a Huawei ONT can be used in the following scenarios:
Connects to an electronic device such as mobile phones and pads to supply power;
Connects to a 3G/4G wireless network adapter to provide wireless 3G/4G access;
Connects to a printer. The computers, mobile phones, and pads connected to the ONT can access the printer to implement the network printing (supported by some Huawei ONT's);
Connects to a USB storage device (portable hard drive) for data backup;

4. Click Download to download files from the FTP server to the USB storage device

Configuration example

Configure the USB-related parameters to share the contents on the USB storage device.
