Files names on usb: Customer connect the USB Flash drive whit the index file to the USB port on the device but never see the USB led turn on, In effect the deployment fail.

[Trouble shooting]: In case of fail need to review the following: 1) Be sure that port is not damaged. (Physical review) 2) Confirm that USB is recognized by the device: When connect the device the following message appears on the command line. 3) Review the files are correctly created 4) Review the error message If the USB-based deployment fails, the system creates an error report usbload_error.txt in the root directory

After review the alarm logs we found: 1) Customer did not save the index file with the mandatory name. Wrong index file name: |

Solution: Change the name to the Index file. New file name:

[Suggestions]: # Observe the ACT indicator on the S5710HI to determine the progress of USB-based deployment: Steady green: The USB-based deployment has succeeded. Off: An error occurred. For example, no index file is saved in the USB flash drive, no USB flash drive is installed, the USB port is damaged, the ACT indicator is damaged, the USB flash drive contains no file for device deployment, or the switch is restarting. # Observe the SYS indicator on any model except S5710HI to determine the progress of USB-based deployment: Slow blinking yellow (once every 2s): The USB-based deployment has succeeded. Fast blinking green (twice every 1s): The system is reading data from the USB flash drive. Fast blinking red (twice every 1s): USB-based deployment has failed. Steady yellow: The system will restart. |
