This post will tell you one issue for Unable to add N2PQ1 boards in OSN 3500 Due to GSCC software incompatible.
Problem description:
In a certain network of OSN 3500 using software version 5.21.13.47P01,
N2 PQ1 boards need to be added at the14 slot of OSN 3500 D12S boards are added at the corresponding 31, 32 and 33, 34 slots. However after physically installing the boards the board cannot report wrong board type alarm
WRG_BD_TYPE Alarm on the N2PQ1 at 14 and 15 slot.
Handling procedure:
1. We suspected the board has DIP settings.
2. Maybe the software version of the N2PQ1of OSN 3500 doesn’t support the GSCC software version.
Root cause:
NA.
Solution:
1. Checked the documents and found that No dip switch settings exist in N2PQ1.
2. Checked the version matching table and found that the OSN3500 with version 5.21.13.47P01 does not support the N2PQ1 boards but the version 5.21.17.31P01 supports the addition of N2PQ1 boards.
3. Upon the R&D suggestion upgraded the software version from
5.21.13.47P01 to 5.21.17.31P01.
