Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to share a case.
Problem Description
License capacity expansion for the license item LNSDOPX9802.
After doing license incremental update, the related license item LNSDOPX9802 appears in the U2000 product license list, and its capacity still no change.
Problem Analysis
1. As checked, previously this license item belongs to the iManager U2000 product, but when apply for the new license file, this license item belongs to the iManager OmniSight-T product;
2. As confirmed, with the evolution from U2000 to NCE, the iManager U2000 licenses will be invalidated. To prevent the impact on the licenses that still exist on iManager U2000 and are being sold on the device side, the configurator on the device side is modified to migrate these licenses from the iManager U2000 product to the iManager OmniSight-T product. However, if capacity applications of these licenses have been made on iManager U2000, subsequent expansion cannot be performed.
Root Cause
The configurator on the device side is modified. Some licenses are moved from iManager U2000 to iManager OmniSight-T
Solution Description
Before or after the capacity expansion, split the capacity of U2000 licenses migrated from U2000 to OmniSight-T and add the capacity on U2000 to that on OmniSight-T.
1. If an OmniSight-T license pending capacity expansion is not activated, split the capacity of the corresponding U2000 license, and then expand the capacity.
2. If an OmniSight-T license pending capacity expansion has been activated, split the capacity of the corresponding U2000 license to complete the capacity expansion.
Operation guide:
1. In the ESDP system, choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > License Split from the navigation pane. The splitting function page is displayed.
2. Specify the splitting mode (splitting with or without revocation code) as required.
3. Select the equipment (node), namely select the corresponding NE on U2000. (Because licenses are migrated from U2000 to OmniSight-T, the capacity of licenses on iManager U2000 needs to be split and added to the capacity on OmniSight-T.)
4. Specify the OmniSight-T product version and the ESN of the corresponding OmniSight-T NE after splitting. (If the corresponding OmniSight-T NE is unavailable, create one.) Check whether the splitting information is correct. If yes, set Region, Rep. Office, Approver, and Reason for Adjustment, and click Submit.
5. After the approver approves the application, U2000 licenses that need to be adjusted are migrated to OmniSight-T. If the OmniSight-T licenses in the capacity expansion have not been activated, continue the capacity expansion. Ensure that the total number of licenses for expansion is correct and activate the licenses. After the licenses are activated, download the latest OmniSight-T and U2000 license files and go to step 8. If the OmniSight-T licenses in the capacity expansion have been activated, go to step 6.
6. Choose My Task > My Application from the navigation pane, find the new splitting application, and download the new U2000 and OmniSight-T license files after splitting.
7. Check whether the capacity of licenses with corresponding codes in the new license file have been expanded. In the OmniSight-T file, the license capacities are combined. In the U2000 file, the corresponding license codes are deleted.
8. Import the new U2000 and OmniSight-T license files to U2000. Note that you need to import the OmniSight-T license file first and then the U2000 license file. After license files are imported to U2000, those licenses with capacity applications on U2000 are still displayed on the iManager U2000 tab page, instead of the iManager OmniSight-T tab page.
