Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to share with you the handling procedure of the BTS3012 GSM cell out of service. Maybe it'll help.
Problem Description
The operator in country A finds that the GSM Cell Out of Service alarm is frequently reported at a BTS3012 site, and the surrounding sites are normal.
Problem Analysis
According to the alarm information, the following problems may occur:
1. The connector is loose.
2. The transmission link is faulty.
3. The board is faulty.
4. The configuration is incorrect.
5. Hardware fault
Handling Procedure
Step 1. Check the M2 connector.
Check whether the 2M connector of the BTS is loose or faulty. No abnormality is found after the onsite insertion and removal.
Step 2. Checking Transmission Cables.
Check the transmission cables and connectors for damage. No damage is found and the transmission link is normal.
Step 3. Check whether the board is normal.
Check whether the indicators on the control board are normal. Switch over, reset, and replace the control board. The fault persists.
Step 4. Check the device configuration.
Reactivate the transmission link on the data transmission side and re-create the transmission data. The fault persists.
Step 5. Checking for Hardware Faults.
Check the hardware indicators and replace the fan module. The fault persists.
Step 6. Check the grounding of the equipment.
1. After the preceding operations, it is found that the fault persists. It is suspected that the grounding of the equipment room may be faulty. Then, check the equipment room environment and find that the grounding voltage difference between the BTS and the transmission equipment is 5 V.
2. Check the grounding of the equipment, the grounding of the transmission equipment, and the grounding of the BTS equipment are connected to two ground bars. The voltage difference between the two ground bars is about 4.5 V.
3. Use a ground cable to directly connect the two ground bars. The cell status and eNodeB services are normal.
Fault Cause
The transmission equipment in the BTS equipment room is not connected to the grounding of the BTS equipment.
Solution
The base station equipment and transmission equipment are connected to the same ground bar.
