Problem Description
Two cross-connect boards on a newly installed OptiX OSN 8800 T32 report the BUS_ERR alarms at the same time.
Problem Analysis
The two cross-connect boards on the equipment report the BUS_ERR alarm at the same time. Therefore, the fault may be caused by the fault of the board in another slot. Checked the alarm parameters. According to the alarm parameters, the board that triggered the alarm was in slot 25.
Checked the board in slot 25. The model of the board was 58NS4 and the line mode was configured. View the NE attributes. The NE is a general OptiX OSN 8800 T32 subrack.
Delete the 58NS4 board. Then, the BUS_ERR alarm disappears.
Root Cause
The TN58NS4 board in an OptiX OSN 8800 T32 general subrack can work only in relay mode, but not in line mode.
Solution Description
Replace the TN58NS4 board with another board that can match the OptiX OSN 8800 T32 general subrack.
