Problem Description
After the device is powered off and restarted, the RDU9 boards of subrack 3 repeatedly report BD_Status alarm and getting reset causing ODU2 links flapping.
Problem Analysis
1. Analyze the fault occurrence process. The subrack ID of subrack 3 changes after the equipment is powered off and restarted.The possible causes are as follows:
a) The subrack ID has been changed but the device is not restarted.
b) The EFI board is faulty.
2. Analyze the alarms and data generated by the Navigator, the two RDU9 boards in subrack 3 transiently report BD-STATUS alarms and SW-failure evens.Other boards are normal.
a) After replacing the RDU9 board of subrack 3 with a free RDU9, the problem still exists. Insert the RDU9 board that is repeatedly restarted in subrack 3 into subrack 1. The board is not repeatedly restarted. Therefore, the RDU9 board is normal.
b) The customer has confirmed that the device is powered off and restarted again.
3. In conclusion, the fault may be caused by the EFI board of subrack 3 faults. It is proved that the problem is solved after the EFI board in subrack 3 is replaced.
Root Cause
The EFI board in subrack 3 was faulty.
Solution Description
Replace the EFI board in subrack 3.
