[Troubleshooting] The NESOFT_MM alarm is reported on the OptiX OSN 3500

This post will tell you a case about NESOFT_MM alarm is reported on the OptiX OSN 3500.

Problem Description

The NESOFT_MM alarm is reported after the GSCC board on the OptiX OSN 3500 is replaced.

Handling procedure

1. According to the alarm parameter of the product documentation, we know that the file versions of the working SCC and those of the protection SCC are inconsistent.

2. Run the command to check the SCC board software version, also can check the version on the NMS. The result shows that BIOS version mismatching in the two SCC board.

3. Load the BIOS of the board in slot 18 to version 08.09.02 through the board software upgrade. 

4. After downgrade the BIOS version ,the alarm cleared.

Root cause

The BIOS versions of the working SCC and those of the protection SCC are inconsistent.

Solution

Downgrade the slot 18 board BIOS version to 08.09.02, clear the alarm.
