Hello, everyone!

People often misunderstand and confuse the relationship between big data and cloud computing. Some people think that big data is cloud computing. What are big data and cloud computing? What is the difference and connection between the two? Here, let's speak freely.t_0018.gif

Cloud and big data are interrelated to each other they can't work all alone,
if there would be no cloud storage than huge amounts of data produced by social media and e-commerce could not be managed and accessible to all
And without big data the application of cloud would also become less useful.

They excel when they are combined

Both have some fundamental differences. In cloud computing, we are leveraging the MSPs/ISPs or "Cloud provider's" resources mainly for computing while reducing in-house resources. It is to virtualize physical devices so that users can work remotely anywhere. Big data focuses on data analysis, efficient processing of massive data. Therefore, the two concepts are different and do not conflict with each other

while Big Data is for dealing with big databases and how to extract meaningful useful information required out of that as per requirement. Big data requires special technologies to effectively process a large amount of data that can be processed within a specified period of time. Technologies applicable to big data include massively parallel processing (MPP) databases, data mining grids, distributed file systems, distributed databases, cloud computing platforms, the Internet, and scalable storage systems.

“Big Data” refers to the large sets of data collected, while “Cloud Computing” refers to the mechanism that remotely takes this data in and performs any operations specified on that data. Cloud Computing providers often utilize a “software as a service” model to allow customers to easily process data.

Although these two are not the same; as Big Data represents content whereas cloud computing is infrastructure, the combination of both the technologies can yield excellent results.

Advantages of cloud computing and big data integration:

  • Agility

  • Reduced cost

  • Data processing

  • Uncomplex

  • Elasticity

As software-as-a-service (SaaS) becomes increasingly popular, it is critical to understand cloud infrastructure best practices and the types of data that can be massively stored. We'll look at the difference between cloud computing and big data, the relationship between them, and why the two are a perfect match, bringing us many new, innovative technologies like AI.

Differences Between Big Data and Cloud Computing

Big Data: This is simply a very large set of data output by various programs. It can refer to any of a wide variety of data, and data sets are often too big to read or query on an ordinary computer.

Cloud Computing: This refers to processing anything on the "cloud," including big data analytics. The "cloud" is just a set of high-performance servers from one of many providers. They can often view and query large data sets faster than standard computers.

Essentially, "big data" is a collection of large sets of data, and "cloud computing" is a mechanism that receives that data remotely and performs any specified action on that data.

bigdata vs cloud computing

Relationships Between Big Data and Cloud Computing

Cloud providers often use a "software-as-a-service" model that allows customers to work with data easily. Typically, you can use a console with specialized commands and parameters, but everything can also be done from a site's user interface. Some of the products that are typically part of this package include database management systems, cloud-based virtual machines and containers, identity management systems, machine learning capabilities, and more.

Big data, in turn, is typically generated by large, web-based systems. It can be in standard or non-standard format. If the data is in a nonstandard format, in addition to machine learning, AI from cloud computing providers can be used to standardize the data.

Data can be leveraged through cloud computing platforms and leveraged in a variety of ways. For example, it can be searched, edited, and used for future insights.

This cloud infrastructure allows for the processing of big data in real-time. It can take huge 'explosion' data from dense systems and interpret it in real-time. Another common relationship between big data and cloud computing is that the power of the cloud allows big data analytics to take place over a fraction of the time.

In short, cloud computing services exist in large part because of big data. Again, the only reason we collect big data is because our services are able to pick it up and decipher it, usually in a matter of seconds. These two are a perfect match because neither exists without the other!

Finally, it is important to note that both big data and cloud computing play a huge role in our digital society. The two tie together, giving those with great ideas but limited resources a chance to achieve business success.

Thank you.
