U2000 is a network management; it can manage Huawei GPON Network, SDH, OSN 8800 WDM devices.
U2000 is a traditional network management system. It provides the FCAPS functions, namely fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security, and supports NE configuration and end-to-end (E2E) service configuration.
NCE integrates the functions of the NMS, SDN controller, and network analysis system. It provides not only traditional FCAPS functions, but also advanced functions such as network visualization, service automation, and intelligent O&M.

The network device management and maintenance functions of the U2000 are mainly migrated to the Network Management app of NCE. The operation interfaces of the Network Management app and U2000 are basically the same, which is user-friendly and shortens the learning curve.

The alarm monitoring and management functions of the U2000 are mainly migrated to the Alarm Monitor app of NCE.
NCE supports more diverse management and visualization functions.
NCE supports more features than U2000.
Note : we have migrated to NCE since the end of 2020, and our colleagues in the operation are satisfied.

U2000 is a network management; it can manage Huawei GPON Network, SDH, OSN 8800 WDM devices. Now Huawei has a new network management system called NCE. NCE supports more features than U2000.
NCE implements digital optical networking, simplified and intelligent O&M, and network autonomy. It delivers optimal user experience and, as the core enabler of Huawei's smart optical network solution, applies to a wide range of optical transport scenarios, such as backbone, metro, and enterprise access network scenarios.

In our network we use only ((I-Master NCE)) that means we have only the basic operation like in U2000 .
to make NCE support the new functions like controller and analyzer we need to add not onlt software but also hardware ((addinding more Tishan servers)).

based on using only I Master NCE , I prefer U2000

1-U2000 is more powerful than NCE as NCE uses web explorer , so it becomes related to the explorer disadvantage and related to the PC capability .

2- NCE reports are not suffecient for example for PW in VPLS you cant find a report for it.

3- NCE always hange up and suddenly stop working that never happen with U2000.

4- No alarm panel always on top of NCE screen just like in U2000 , that means when you open a configuration page for example you cant see the alarms appearing while you work , You should open the main page to see alarm panel .

5- You cant delete more than 10 trail at same time even if you are the admin .

6- in alarm page , i dont know why Clear choice is next to Acknowlegment , so u may clear alarms instead of Acknowledge.

7- as NCE is web based u cant open more than session for the same user with the same explorer at same PC .

8- there are no many operations when you right click the NE icon.

9- the pages dont fit the normal screen u need big screen . (we had to buy 27 inch PC screens).

may be I will get used to working with NCE but I miss U2000.

Thanks for the info. I thought that U2000 was better, but my answer was that because it is the tool with which I have worked, and currently also U2020
