In the Gigaband era, fast deployment and efficient management of fiber infrastructure networks have become major challenges faced by operators who want to develop and promote Gigaband. Huawei has launched the QuickODN solution for fast ODN deployment and accurate ODN resource management to help operators build 10G PON infrastructure networks and pave the highways for transmitting multiple services, thereby realizing an upward business spiral for the fiber broadband industry.
With the Huawei QuickODN solution, operators do not need to splice fibers or open boxes during ODN deployment, which improves service provisioning efficiency and reduces the total cost of operation (TCO) by 15–30%. The solution is widely deployed around the world by more than 100 operators.

FTTH network consists of OLT/ODN/ONT. The most important ODN could be divided into two parts
- HP (Home Pass) and HC (Home Connection).

• In AirPON based QuickODN [Optical Distribution Network (ODN) for the distribution network of the optical network to the client]
  

- Hub BOX;

- Sub/End BOX;

- Pre-connection cable;

The ODN network features digital management, pre-connection technology, and parallel construction without fiber splicing. Regular technicians can quickly master full-fiber access network installation and maintenance. 

ODN is composed of three segments: feeder, distribution and drop.

Feeder optical cable or feeder segment is from headend or central office to optical distribution point. These optical cables have a big capacity - from about min 48F to 144F, 288F or more. Typical installation of these optical cables is underground, in pipes or direct buried. Sometimes, it can be realized aerially on poles.

From optical distribution point to optical access point, these are optical distribution cables - typical 4, 8, 12, 24 F. The network can be realized in different ways, as well as the feeder segment.

The last segment - drop optical cables are optical cables with one or two optical fibers. Like the previous two segments, this network can be realized in several ways. Drop fiber optic cables usually have factory-fitted connectors. These are usually SC/APC connectors, less often SC / PC.

In general, ODN should have one or two optical splitters per optical fiber. Typical splits for GPON are 32 or 64. ......
