Hello, everyone！In our work of optical layer transmission equipment maintenance, we often encounter various reasons, which lead to the equipment can not work normally, such as hardware, software, and many other external reasons. hi ,
I think the most affective causes are power and earthing , tempreature , and wrong software upgrading for example :-
- the fluctuating in power voltage .
- the loose connection of power.
- the bad grounding impedance value or grounding connection .
- usually the very high tempreture or high humedity reduces the equipment life time and may cause faults .
- the upgrade of software with out following the right steps , for example not making backup or switching main, standby boards .

I'm a Pre Sales Engineer, and the most important thing to do before offering and defining equipment is necessary to understand the real case of use and the results that your customer needs for us to draw the correct products based on the expectative and the size of the environment. I tell this because one of that causes the equipment not to work properly is that your size is not correct for the necessary environment and there are two reasons for these mistakes. First is that sometimes the customer have a small budget and buy equipment inferior and second the equipment seller have no experience to work as a trusted advisor and offer equipment with less cost but with no correct capacity!

You mentioned two important factors: 1. The specifications and parameters of the device must match the actual scenario. 2. Do not buy inferior products (including second-hand equipment)

Below I mention 2 factors that cause the equipment not to work properly:


SW

Not checking the protection schemes. Therefore, check the protection schemes of the equipment to make sure that services can be protected in case of a fault (Maintenance period: Quarterly).


HW

Not cleaning the air filter. Therefore, clean the air filter of the equipment to keep the equipment in a good running state (Maintenance period: Adjustable according to the cleanness of the equipment room. Recommended at least once a year).
