Precautions
Do not touch rotating fan blades.
Remove and insert a fan module with even force. Excessive force may damage the connectors or appearance of the fan module.
A fan module must be replaced within five minutes. Otherwise, the system heat dissipation is compromised.
To avoid the sharp increase of the system temperature, replace only the faulty fan module.

Procedure
1. Perform a pre-replacement check.
Check whether there is a redundant fan module and whether the Running/Alarm indicator of the fan module is steady green, as shown in Figure 4-56. For details about the indicators on different components, see Running/Alarm Indicators on a Dorado18000 V3 Controller Enclosure.
2. Wear an ESD wrist strap.
3. Remove a fan module,
A. Press the latch on the panel to open the panel.
B. Press the latches on the fan module to pull out the fan module.
4. Put the removed fan module into an ESD bag.
5. Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
6. Insert the spare part into the empty slot until it clicks into place,
7. Wait about two minutes and check the status of the Running/Alarm indicator on the fan module to determine whether the fan module is successfully installed. Figure 4-59 shows the location of the Running/Alarm indicator.
- If the indicator is steady green, the fan module is successfully installed.
- If the indicator is steady red or off, the newly installed fan module is faulty, the fan module slot is faulty, or the fan module is incorrectly installed.
8. If the fan module is successfully installed, close the panel,
9. Confirm the replacement.
After the preceding procedure is complete, check services on the host for any storage-related error. If any storage-related error is reported, contact Huawei technical support.
Follow-up Procedure
