Hello, everyone!

In this post, I would like to share with you the TNF11DAS Board working principle and signal flow

Decreased RX level on OSC port

The OSC RX level is directly influenced by the optical power received from the optical fiber. The issue here could be the local patch ( from the port LIN until the first ODF) or attenuation on the optical fiber ( after ODF). The solution will be to check/ replace the patch between the port and ODF, if the issue persists, you must check the fiber with OTDR.

Another thing you must keep in mind is to check also the received optical power on the OSC port of the DAS board in the opposite side of the optical channel. If you can see a degradation in both sides, then it may be a bidirectional attenuation on the optical fiber and you must check the fiber for attenuation, find the attenuation point and solve the attenuation. If you can see only in one side of the optical channel degradation, you must check the local patches in both sides ( TX for the farm equipment- between LOUT port and ODT, and RX for the equipment where you see the degradation-LIN port and ODF) and also the optical fiber on the receiving direction, that means unidirectional attenuation.

When the source of the attenuation will be found and the issue is solved, the received power level of the OSC will come back in range.

That's all, I hope you like it.

Thank you!
