This post will tell you a case about timeslot setting incorrect cause port down.
Issue description
Both end use UNQ2 and create V-port, but report ETH_LINK_DOWN, link route is UNQ2-NO2-NO2(siteA)------NO2-NO2-UNQ2(siteB)
Handling Process
1. Checked the physical fiber connections and optical power. The fiber connections and optical power were normal.
2. Check the cross-connection configuration. The configuration is correct.
3. Check setting of the virtual ETH port, the ETH port are correctly set.
4. Check the timeslot configuration of the UNQ2 board and the NO2 board. It is found that the timeslot mode is inconsistent. The NO2 board works in automatic continuous mode, and the UNQ2 board works in automatic random mode. The two boards cannot be interconnected in different modes. After the design is changed and the same timeslot is used for interconnection, the fault is rectified.
Root Cause
Timeslot mode are not consistent
Solution
Change the design, UNQ2 cannot use automatic continuous mode, otherwise it cannot support virtual ETH port, use multiple port of UNQ2 to transfer the timeslot.
