Hey Guys, 

I have the following board: 

Description=OptiX OSN 6800,TN11MCA802,8-Channel Spectrum Analysis Board,Monitoring 40Gbps Singal

That report alarms on all wavelength but no traffic impact is present. If I query for info about a single wavelength, the following error appears:

Timeout for not receive the response from board. error code:38755


Is something that I can do to manage this error or the board needs to be replaced?

Querying the spectrum information on the NMS times out (fault code: 38755), or the board reports the alarm.

Root Cause

MOD_COM_FAIL alarm 

  1. The Optoplex module software has a defect. As a result, the motor component wear increases, and the spectrum information cannot be scanned. 

  2. The hardware of the Optoplex module is defective. As a result, the motor freezes and wavelength scanning fails.

  3. The PCB of the Axsun module is defective. As a result, the module is broken due to long-term stress. As a result, wave scanning fails.

Judgment Method

The board is a risky board if either of the following conditions is met:

  1. The OCM module is provided by Optoplex, and the firmware version of the module is not 165D (2293), 165A (2290), 1642 (2266), or 1639 (2257).

  2. The OCM module is provided by Optoplex, and the board is manufactured before January 1, 2014.

  3. The OCM module is manufactured by Axsun and is manufactured before October 22, 2012.

Solution

Perform a cold reset or remove and insert the board. If the fault persists, replace the board.

Perform cold reset on the board, if doesn't respond plug out and insert again..if these actions doesn't work. Replace the board probably the module is faulty
