Hello everyone!
Today, I'd like to share a case.
Problem Description
The U2000 V100R002C01SPC004 was used to manage an SDH network. The U2000 was interconnected with the upper-layer NMS through a CORBA port. There was an 8-hour difference between the alarm reporting time displayed on the U2000 and that collected by the upper-layer NMS.
Problem Analysis
Huawei performed the following operations to diagnose the fault:
1. Checked the NE time and synchronized the NE time. The fault persisted.
2. Checked the time zone setting on the U2000 and found that the time zone was set to GMT+8, which was correct.
3. The T2000 was ever used. The CORBA port varied in the T2000 and U2000. The settings on the upper-layer NMS were correct.
4. The U2000 V100R002C01SPC004 had a defect in UTC time conversion (see the precaution for incorrect UTC time in alarms reported by the CORBA port of U2000 V100R002C01SPC004 CORBA). After the time was changed to the local time, the fault persisted.
5. Collected and analyzed information, and found that the time reported by the CORBA port to the upper-layer NMS was the local time plus 8 hours no matter whether the UTC time or local time was set on U2000 V100R002C01SPC004.
6. Upgraded the U2000 from V100R002C01SPC004 to V100R002C01SPC100. The time reporting information collected by the upper-layer NMS was correct.
Root Cause
The U2000 V100R002C01SPC004 had a defect in UTC time conversion.
Solution Description
Upgraded the U2000 from V100R002C01SPC004 to V100R002C01SPC100 or later. The time reporting information collected by the upper-layer NMS was correct.
