Setting the Subrack Number of a VCM5010 Server
The DIP button is available on a VCM5010 server for users to set the subrack number. After the subrack number is set, the operating system can automatically assign IP addresses and host names to boards based on the subrack number and slot number.
1. Enable the active multi-function switch board to enter the subrack number setting mode.
2. Change the subrack number.
Indicators H to L represent a binary number, whose equivalent decimal value is the subrack number. The on state indicates the binary digit 1, and the off state indicates the binary digit 0. For example, if the three indicators are all off, the binary value is 000, which indicates subrack 0. If the three indicators are all on, the binary value is 111, which indicates subrack 7. Table 1 describes the mapping between indicators and subrack numbers.

3. After the subrack number is changed, hold down the DIP button for 6s to exit the subrack number setting mode.
4. Remove and insert the power cable to power off and then power on the subrack for the setting to take effect.
