Hello,

Today, I would like to share with you the TE link of the OSN 3500 device is always in the testing state.

Problem Description

OSN 3500----Microwave---Microwave----OSN 3500, two OSN 3500 devices in the intelligent domain are connected to each other through microwave, and the optical port rate is 622M. However, the status of the TE link is always in the testing state.

Process

1. Check whether the intelligent protocol of the ports at both ends is enabled, and find that the LMP protocol and OSPF protocol status of the ports are enabled;

2. In the TE link management, select the synchronization of the whole network, the status of the TE link does not change after the synchronization;

3. Select " Intelligence  > LMP Protocol Management " in the function tree , click the " LMP Auto Discovery Mode" tab, and modify the protocol discovery mode to bytes D4 to D12. After modification, the TE link status returns to normal.

Root cause

There are two ways to discover the LMP protocol: one is to use the J0 byte (default), and the other is to use the D4 to D12 bytes. When a REG network element is connected between two intelligent network elements, the LMP protocol discovery mode of the boards corresponding to the two intelligent network elements needs to be changed to bytes D4 to D12. In this scenario, the J0 byte is used by default, and the J0 byte is terminated after passing through the microwave device, so only D4 to D12 bytes can be used.

Solution

Modify the protocol discovery mode to bytes D4 to D12. After the modification, the TE link status returns to normal.

Conclusions

When there are REG network elements or other devices connected between two intelligent network elements, it is necessary to modify the LMP protocol discovery method of the boards corresponding to the two intelligent network elements to D4~D12 bytes, and perform D4-D12 bytes on the passing devices. The punch-through of D12.
