Symptom
On the T2000, the ALC function is configured successfully for the link with 23 NEs. An attempt to query the link status is made but fails. In addition, the system reports "Operation Timeout" in each query period.
Cause analysis
In the case of the OptiX OSN 6800 and OptiX OSN 3800, every operation has a execute time limit. For the ALC function, the default time is about two minutes. In this case, there are 23 NEs on the link, and the system needs to perform the ALC function from the first NE to the last NE. This requires more than two minutes. As a result, the system reports "Operation Timeout" to the T2000 before the operation is complete. That is why the query of the ALC link status fails.
Procedure
1. In the case of the link where the ALC function is enabled, it is recommended that the number of the NEs on the link should be 10 and must be less than 16.
2. In the case of a ring network, it is recommended to divide the network into several ALC links.
Result
The problem is solved after the modification is finished as the requests.
