We have two switches which are stacked. The stack card of one switch was broken. When the stack card is replaced, the other switch automatically restarts. Is this normal? Or are we operating incorrectly?

It will auto-reboot since you did not power off the switch. As per the product documentation, you are advised to turn off all the switch during the operation
