Today I will share with you about the solution for storage policy does not take effect as configured.

The server recording is 1 day, but we get recording more than 1 day. which waste space!

Problem Description

The storage duration is configured. The actual recording duration exceeds the configured duration.

Configuration as below:

It record more than one day, it start from 01/02/2021 at 10:00 AM and keep in recording till 03/02/2021 at 2:00 PM.

Problem analysis

We found the configuration done by policy and space and not time, which means if there is still recording space, the NVR will keep recording.

Solution Description

Change the storage policy from space to period and issue is resolved.

To change the policy follow the below steps:
