[Issues]
One or multiple SMC services fail to restart and the error message "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" is displayed, as shown in the below picture:
[Possible causes]
The service fails to load the Nlog.config configuration file and start because it was modified incorrectly.
[Troubleshooting procedure]
1. Use a text editor to open the NLogErr.log file, which is stored in the D:\Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd\SMC 2.0\Bin path by default.
2. Check the NLogErr.log file for the log entry that indicates a failure to load the Nlog.config file, as shown in the below picture:

3. Replace the current Nlog.config file with the Nlog.config file (default directory:SmcInstall\SMC 2.0\Bin) in the SMC software installation package.
4. Restart the SMC service.
