The HRP heartbeat cable must be connected to the firewall port. If packets are transmitted over the link between switches, service ports are occupied. The HRP backup information is sometimes large and occupies the bandwidth of the service port. In serious cases, services may be interrupted.

yes you can, but the real answer is NO you should not.

The best practice is to have the HRP link directly connected between the firewalls.
