Hi, dear!
In this post, I want to share with you the principle of load balancing in a VCN cluster.
Load balancing in a VCN cluster is implemented based on the recording storage space first and then the number of IPCs without recording plans.
For example, a cluster consists of MPUs A, B, C, and D, each of which is connected to 100 cameras. The same recording plan has been set for A, B, and C under the proper running and specification requirements. No recording plan is set for D.
Therefore, the recording storage space of D is the lowest. Some cameras connected to A, B, and C will be migrated to D. At the same time, some IPCs (without recording plans) connected to D will also be migrated to A, B, and C. However, if IPCs connected to D also have recording plans, load balancing based on the number of IPCs without recording plans will not be enabled. Therefore, the number of IPCs connected to D might be greater than those connected to A, B, and C.
The recording storage space is determined by the recording bit rate and number of IPCs. For example, if an MPU is connected to 256 IPCs with a bit rate of 4 Mbit/s and another MPU is connected to 128 IPCs with a bit rate of 8 Mbit/s in a cluster, the cluster has implemented load balancing.
