Hello everyone!
Today I would like to share with you a case about the issue that the OD fails to be created when the G2HSC1 board is used as the optical monitoring board.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
The OMS segment passes through four sites, such as sites A, B, C and D. The OD fails to be created on the OMS and the NCE-T reports the error message "The port ID is wrong." All devices are OSN 9800 M12, while the NCE-T version is R20C10SPC300.

HANDLING PROCESS
a) Check the fiber connections of all relevant boards in the OMS section. The logical fibers are completed and created as per the design. The checking of the logical fiber of the optical monitoring boards in the four sites is completed.

b) Check the operation log in NE Explorer, collect the operation logs of the source and sink NE for analysis and check the failure information of “Add EMCA”. The creation error is reported on port 8 of the G2HSC1 board.

c) According to the working principle and signal flow of the G2HCS board in the product documentation, the signal flow of port 8 (FMO1) comes from the FM1 port. The FM port outputs the probe light emitted by the laser of the OTDR module for line fiber quality monitoring.
d) When the OD function of G2HCS is used, only port 1 (RM/TM) can deliver. In this scenario, port 8 (FMO1) is used for logical fiber connections. Therefore, NCE needs to be compatible.
Functional modules and signal flow of the G2HSC1 board

ROOT CAUSE
The current version of NCE is incompatible with the G2HSC using ports other than port 1 to deliver OD.
SOLUTION
1. NCE-T needs to be upgraded to the next patch R20C10CP3103.
2. If the OTDR function is not needed, for now, delete the logical fiber connection of the FM port of the G2HSC boards in the OMS sections, then OD can be created. This problem can be solved temporarily. Once the NCE patch is installed, recreate the logical fiber and OD.
