The IP address is being used by a static-MAC user

Hi there, everybody!


This post is about the issue that the IP address is being used by a static-MAC user. Please check below for more information.


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


I have a problem. So, in my company I have a DHCP server on my switch core, so i have some static-bind-address, like:


static-bind ip-address 192.168.120.118 mac-address 0026-abf6-ffe1

So right know I need to change this mac-address (0026-abf6-ffe1) for another one (b0e8-4266-3e1b). I've already done this:


static-bind ip-address 192.168.120.118 mac-address b0e8-4266-3e1b
result: Error: The IP address's status is error

undo static-bind ip-address 192.168.120.118
result: Error: The IP address is being used by a static-MAC user.


undo static-bind mac-address 0026-abf6-ffe1
result: Error: The IP address is being used by a static-MAC user.

Can anyone assist me in solving this issue that the IP address is being used by a static-MAC user?

Hello there!


Try undoing the mac-address learned statically, then undo static-bind ip-address 192.168.120.118.

you have to delete the old binding item.
the ip address and the mac-address binding should be unique.
