Hi all, I would like to share some information about The electrical Tilt & Mechanical Tilt & how to modify Ret from the site
There are two types of Tilt
The mechanical tilt: tilting the antenna, through specific accessories on its bracket as blew the photo
The electrical tilt: the modification of the diagram is obtained by changing the characteristics of the signal phase of each element of the antenna as blew photo.
usually adjusted through an accessory such as a rod or bolt with markings. This adjustment can be either manual or remote, in the latter case being known as RET (Remote Electrical Tilt) usually a small engine connected to the screw stem/regulator that does the job of adjusting the tilt.
The electrical tilt features
1- Respond quickly to changing traffic needs
2- Experience higher tilt possibility compared to mechanical tilt
3- Reduces human error with accurate mechanical control
4- No specialized manpower or equipment is needed
5- Ideal for isolated or difficult-to-access sites
Modify Ret Device
Use the command SCN ALD to scand ret device to get information that you need to configure the device (ret)
1- ALD device type
2- vendor code
3- serial number of ret device
Use command MOD RET to modify ret with new information that you get from the SCN ALD result
1- ALD device type
2- vendor code
3- serial number of ret device
4- ensure that configure status is unconfigure
5- ensure that the power switch at the control port is turned on by command DSP REPORT
6-Antenna scenario should be adjusted based on hardware installation
Example for ret Devices
The antenna has three devices for ret (900-1800-3G)
cell 1 (subtract 80) ret devices NO (0-1-2)
cell 2 (subtract 81) ret devices NO (3-4-5)
cell 3 (subtract 82) ret devices NO (6-7-8)
Use LST RET to show ret information that you modify it
When you make SCN ALD again you find configure status is configure
