Hello all,

Device model: AC6005 Version: V200R007

Problem description: STAs are often used in buildings A and B. Each AP is associated with the same SSID profile, different VAP profiles, and different VLANs.  I hope that the terminal obtains the same IP address each time. How to implement this?

Best regard!

Hello,

1. Create a VLAN pool and use the hash algorithm. In this way, the hash algorithm is performed based on the MAC address, and the same VLAN is obtained each time. The obtained IP address is the same.

2. Associate the VAP with the same SSID profile and associate the VAP with the VLAN pool when associating the VAP with the service VLAN.

Note: When the VLAN allocation algorithm is hash, the VLAN pool allocates service VLANs to STAs based on the hash calculation result of the MAC addresses of the STAs. As long as the VLANs in the VLAN pool do not change, STAs obtain fixed service VLANs. When STAs go online again, they are preferentially allocated IP addresses that have been used. In addition, the problem cannot be solved by delivering only one VLAN because a broadcast domain has risks when the number of STAs is large.
