The client cannot obtain an IP address

Hi, community！

I encountered a problem why can’t my client get an IP address after configuring the DHCP Relay function?

What's the reason for this，Does anyone know?

Hello friend,

The possible causes of the failure to obtain an IP address are as follows:

1. No route is configured between the server and the relay agent.

2. No IP address pool is configured on the relay agent gateway.

You can try to check traffic flow with Wireshark to find where it stops.

Appreciate if we can have below details.

(1) Which Huawei device you are using ?
(2) Did you try to push DHCP by device to test ?
(3) Can you please share the topology and VLAN/IP assignment between DHCP Relay server and Huawei device ?
(4) What is the port configuration of Huawei device which is going towards DHCP Relay server ? Are you sending Tag or Untagged packets ?
