Checking the Firmware Protocol and Version of the Cisco IP Phone
Procedure
- Check the firmware protocol and version of the Cisco IP phone.
The AR used as the SIP server receives the registration request of the Cisco IP phone, and there are requirements for the Cisco IP phone model, firmware protocol, and firmware version. Check whether the model of the Cisco IP phone is 7911, 7942, or 7960 and whether the firmware protocol and version are SIP8.53 or SIP8.54. If the preceding requirements are not met, use the Cisco TFTP server to upgrade the firmware of the Cisco IP phone and try to register with the AR.
Checking Whether Users Are Correctly Configured for the Cisco IP Phone on the AR
Procedure
- Check whether users are correctly configured for the Cisco IP phone on the AR.Cisco IP phone 3015 is used as an example. Run the following command to perform the configuration.

Checking Whether Parameters of the SIP Server Are Correctly Configured
Procedure
- Check whether parameters of the SIP server are correctly configured.
number-parameter 54 1 should be configured on the AR. This parameter is used to obtain the destination port for responding to the 200 OK or 403 Forbidden message in the Contact header field of the registration message. The Cisco IP phone is different from the Huawei eSpace series phone. The UDP source port that sends the registration message does not receive SIP messages, so specified interconnection parameters must be configured.
