The switch board has two isolated network planes: service plane (eFabric ports) and hardware management plane (Base ports). eFabric LAN0 and LAN1: The ports belong to the service plane. The ports are 40GE QSFP+ optical ports. One 40GE QSFP+ optical port can be extended to four 10GE optical ports through the MPO/PC-4DLC/PC-multimode optical fibers. After extension, the ports connect to the 10GE optical switch using optical fibers. Base LAN0 and LAN1: The ports belong to the hardware management plane. The ports are 1GE electrical ports and can function as management ports in the VCM. The ports can connect to GE electrical switches. RS232: The port is a serial port. The port can connect to a PC through a serial cable. The port can access the Subrack Management Module (SMM) of the switch board for switch board configuration using the serial port tool.
