This post features the advanced method of resetting an ONT to its default configuration. Please see below for more details.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
I am unable to reset the ONT to its default login credentials. I have not connected this OLT/ONT to U2000, so there is no auto config upload t ONT.
Because I don't have the right credentials, I can't reset it from the webpage. How can I reset the ONT to its default login credentials? <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" />
All the ways I tried have failed:
1. the ONT HW reset button pressed more than 10s;
2. the ONT factory reset command from the OLT console.
3. upgrading to a newer FW from V13 to V15 to V17 does not help - old credentials still remain.
You can telnet the ONT via OLT and execute the restore manufactory in the WAP mode.

Please note that reverting to the factory settings will lose the user's current configuration.
