Hello,

I need to change TCP MSS value on NE20E-S2F on it's interfaces connected to my transit IP provider.

Do you know how to perform that?

Hi,

You can use the tcp adjust-mss inbound command to set the MSS of an interface.

Example

# Set the MSS to 1450 bytes for the TCP SYN/SYN+ACK packets received by 0/2/0.1.

[~HUAWEI] interface Gigabitethernet 0/2/0.1
[~HUAWEI-GigabiteEhernet0/2/0.1] tcp adjust-mss 1450 inbound

Refer to https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100075578&id=tcp_adjust-mss_inbound&lang=en

Any further questions, let us know.

Hello,

Of course, sometimes to avoid unfragmented packets discarded, reasonable adjustment of MTU/MSS is necessary.

The command for adjusting the MTU value of an interface or a tunnel is just mtu.

please refer to https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100075578&id=mtu&text=null&lang=en.

And the command for adjusting the MSS value is tcp adjust-mss.

https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100075578&id=tcp_adjust-mss&text=null&lang=en

You can also use the tcp max-mss command to set the maximum MSS value for a TCP connection.

https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1100075578&id=tcp_max-mss&text=tcp max-mss&lang=en

Thanks

Posted by Popeye_Wang at 2020-03-28 00:54 Hi,You can use the tcp adjust-mss inbound command to set the MSS of an interface.Example# Set the MS ...

This command can only limit the MSS in the inbound direction. I think you're hoping to limit the outbound mss.
You can run the tcp max-mss command in the system view to set the MSS value of all TAC connections.
Alternatively, you can set the MTU value on the interface.  MSS = MTU - 40

Hello,
According to this link https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/br/knowledge/EKB1100012281 tcp max-mss just affects segments that are originated my router itself.
Thanks for your help
