Objective | To test power module faults |
Network Diagram | |
Prerequisites | 1. An OceanStor 2800 V5&5300 V5&5500 V5&5600 V5&5800 V5&6800 V5&18500 V5&18800 V5&5300F V5&5500F V5&5600F V5&5800F V5&6800F V5&18500F V5&18800F V5 storage system is running properly and can communicate with a management terminal. The two power modules are normal. 2. You have logged in to the storage system as a super administrator through DeviceManager. 3. Disk domainDiskdomain001, storage poolStoragepool001, and LUNsLUN001andLUN002have been created in the storage system. 4. You have created mapping viewMappingViewXX, and added host groupHostGroupXX(containing hostHostXXwith an initiator) and LUN groupLUNGroupXX(containingLUN001andLUN002) into the mapping view. 5. LUNs have been scanned for on the server and read and write operations are continuously performed on LUNs using an I/O R/W tool. |
Procedure | 1. Remove a power module. 2. ChooseMonitor> Alarms and Events. Check whether an alarm is generated, indicating that a power module has been removed. In theSystemwindow, check the status of the other power module. 3. On the server, check whether LUN I/O reads and writes are interrupted. 4. After three minutes, reinsert the removed power module. 5. ChooseMonitor> Alarms and Events. Check whether the alarm indicating that a power module has been removed is cleared. In theSystemwindow, check power module status. 6. On the server, check LUN read/write status. |
Expected Result | 1. In step 2, an alarm is generated, indicating that a power module has been removed. The status of the other power module is normal and online. 2. In step 3, LUNs can be read and written normally without I/O interruption. 3. In step 5, the alarm is cleared. The status of all power modules is normal. 4. In step 6, LUNs can be read and written normally without I/O interruption. |
Remarks | Fan modules of OceanStor 2200 V3 and 2600 V3 are integrated into power modules. After a power module is removed, an alarm will be generated, indicating the a fan has been removed. |
