Objective To verify that a LUN can be read and written
Network Diagram None
Prerequisites 1. Communication is normal between the management terminal and OceanStor 2800 V5&5300 V5&5500 V5&5600 V5&5800 V5&6800 V5&18500 V5&18800 V5&5300F V5&5500F V5&5600F V5&5800F V5&6800F V5&18500F V5&18800F V5.
2. You have logged in as an administrator to the storage array using DeviceManager.
3. Disk domain Diskdomain001, storage pool Storagepool001, and LUN LUN001 have been created.
Procedure 1. Choose Provisioning > LUN > LUN Group. On the page that is displayed, create a LUN group LUNGroup001 and add LUN001 to LUNGroup001.
2. Choose Provisioning > LUN > LUN Group. LUN groups are displayed. Select LUNGroup001 and check whether it contains LUN001.
3. Choose Provisioning > Host > Host. On the page that is displayed, create host Host001 and add the initiator of the connected server to Host001.
4. Choose Provisioning > Host > Host. Hosts are displayed. Select Host001 and check whether it contains the initiator.
5. Choose Provisioning > Host > Host Group. On the page that is displayed, create host group HostGroup001 and add Host001 to HostGroup001.
6. Choose Provisioning > Host > Host Group. Host groups are displayed. Select HostGroup001 and check whether it contains Host001.
7. Choose Provisioning > Mapping View. On the page that is displayed, create mapping view MapView001, and add HostGroup001 and LUNGroup001 to MapView001.
8. Choose Provisioning > Mapping View. Mapping views are displayed. Select MapView001 and check whether it contains HostGroup001 and LUNGroup001.
9. On the server, scan for the LUN and check whether it has been mapped to the server.
10. Use an I/O delivery tool to read data from and write data to LUN001. Check whether the data reads and writes are normal.
Expected Results 1. In step 2, LUNGroup001 is created and LUN001 is added to LUNGroup001.
2. In step 4, Host001 is successfully created and the initiator is added to Host001.
3. In step 6, HostGroup001 is successfully created and Host001 is added to HostGroup001.
4. In step 8, MapView001 is successfully created, and HostGroup001 and LUNGroup001 are added to MapView001.
5. In step 9, you can see that the LUN is mapped to the server.
6. In step 10, data reads and writes are normal.
Remarks 1. LUNs can be discovered on the server only when service cables between and configurations of the server and the storage system are correct.
2. Multipathing software must be installed on the server. Otherwise, you will see two LUNs on the server.
