Hello, everyone.

I want to use two S5300 switches A and B to set up a stack. The version of switch A is V1R5, and the version of switch B is V2R1. Set the priority of B to 200 so that B becomes the master switch and the priority of the other is still 100. Power on A and then B. After the stack is set up, switch A becomes the master switch, and switch B is downgraded from V2R1 to V1R5.

Why did this happen?

Hi, Qazik.
When fixed switches set up an iStack system, they compete against each other in the following sequence: startup status, priority, and MAC address. As shown in the preceding competition conditions, the priority of switch A is higher than that of switch B. When switch A starts earlier than switch B, switch B will not be elected as the master switch even if switch B has a higher priority.
