For this scenario, generally, the capacity of a grid-tied unit is 1–2 MW. The voltage on the transformer high-voltage side is between 10 kV to 35 kV. Communication is implemented by connection to the central monitoring room over the optical fiber ring network.
In most cases, large-sized PV power stations require a 35 kV/110 kV (220 kV) booster station. The AC side mostly uses the delta connection, and the N cable can be spared. The power grid is relatively clean with low harmonic content, therefore the PLC communication mode can be used.
