Customer from XXX country use Diesel Generator(DG) (7kW) to power up SUN2000-150KTL-S0. While performing this operation, they realize that the DG was unable to supply power to the load and charge the battery in the same time
Alarm Information
Abnormal Start
A) We need to make sure if the generator parameter is correctly set, in this case is 7kW DG

B) After changing enabling the DG function and changing the rated power parameters, the DG input still unable to change the battery and power up the load, instead the battery is power up the load.

C) We collected logs for further analysis as below;

1. Initial load is 9.49%.
2. When PFC start, generator overload up to 100%.
3. Generator shutdown and start again.
Root Cause
The generator capacity is too small to match the load and battery charging:
1. Generator capacity is 7KVA.
2. Load capacity is 7kVA*9.49% = 0.66kVA.
3. Battery charging capacity is up to 33KVA.
Firstly the generator supply power for user load, the load rate is 9.49%, when charger start to work, the load rate is up to 100%, then result in overload.
Solution
Replace with a large-capacity generator which matches the system rated power.
For this site, the generator capacity should be larger than one single HSU capacity (33kVA).
